Andrew Harrison

Andrew Harrison.jpg

Gallery owner and sculptor Andrew Harrison developed an interest in wood turning  towards the end of a long career in the Army.  Having then taken up the opportunity to work with a renowned sculptor in France, he returned to his Oxfordshire home to start creating his unique pieces.

Before starting each new work, Andrew carefully selects timbers for their colouration, flaws and individual characteristics.  Once the basic shape has been carved, he then uses a combination of techniques including staining and burning to enhance the wood's natural contours and features.  Andrew's working methods allow each piece to emerge and develop in its own way, often with surprising and unexpected results.

In 2017 Andrew won the Mary Moser Award for his sculpture, as part of the Oxfordshire Artweeks annual event. Andew is a member of the Oxfordshire Craft Guild and his work can be found in private collections throughout the UK, Europe, Australia, Japan and America.

Our Artists are able to do commission pieces. If you see a painting that is sold they will be more than happy to do something similar for you. Please contact us for more information.
